Subject: Close Incident of the 4th kind

Lifted up and transported to space as if by those pesky aliens. String Cheese is first rate, so very tight and this show at the intimate Thomas Wolfe Auditorium was a jaw dropping, mezmerizing, show that simply rocked and jammed from the start. As the evening progressed it just kept getting better and better. The music flowed from one song to the next so fluidly. As a 12 year resident of Asheville, and a 54 year old deadhead, I can with all honesty say that this show was one of the best shows of my life. Thomas Wolfe Auditorim is a awesome venue. THANKS SO MUCH TO SCI & CREW! Peace and love to all.

Subject: Crazy Night in Asheville

After coming upon a ticket at the last minute, driving up from Charlotte, and chilling on Shakedown for 2 hours, I was ready for an amazing show, SCI delivered. The show started off well and I really liked Bend Down Low but Mouna Bowa was where it really got going. Some good jamming and then an awesome Rollover to end the set. A crazy drum procession paraded through the audience and joined the Cheese drummer on stage before stopping and going right into Ms. Brown's/Chameleon/Ms. Brown's. There were good covers of Panama Red and Up Against the Wall Redneck Mother in the second set but the highlight was the epic Land's End that led right into an insanely high energy Ramble On/I Know You Rider. A great three song encore including two bluegrass songs ended the night.

Its one of those that you just had to be there. No overly long jams, no ttrancy freakouts, just first rate, high class musicianship from a band that it all under control that n
ight. The jams aren't jaw-dropping, but intricately creative and brimming with taste. This show had class. Plus, I'm willing to bet the entire crowd ate the same batch of roomers, creating a frenzied energy I've felt only a few time
s in my show going career. Awesome doesn't do it justice. The Ramble On/Rider after a perfectly timed and played Lands End could not have been more appropriate. Kudos to all involved.

I'm glad that this show finally got posted for everyone to enjoy. This was probably my last show and fortunately it was a killer (unlike the night before). I haven't listened to this whole recording yet but it sounds decent, The Cheese were at the top of their craft, energy was off the scale, and the drum procession leading from the lobby to the stage to start the second set was totally awesome.
